The Poster Contest is open to all students in the 3rd to 5th Grade, which ever year the American Revolution is taught. Public, Private, Charter Schools, Home School, and Scouting Organizations can have entries.
Rules and Guidelines
· Poster will be on standard poster board (22” x 28”)
· Any media of drawing material may be used
· Students may paste unpublished material (not commercially printed) on the poster
· No three-dimensional posters will be accepted
· The subject must conform to the announced theme showing evidence of research. The student/scout may include a short-written explanation on the poster concerning any symbols used.
· No group project posters. Each poster must be done by one (1) individual student/scout.
· All entries must have the following information taped to the back of the poster ( NO SIGNAGE OR LABELING ON THE FRONT OF THE POSTER)
o Student Data: Name, Address, Age, Grade.
o Organization Data: Name of Teacher/Scout Leader, Name of Organization, Organization’s Address
o Sponsoring SAR Chapter and State Society Data
· Posters must be submitted to the Ozark Mountain Chapter Organizer BEFORE February 7, 2025
· All posters will be judged on the following criteria:
o Does the poster express the annual theme?
o Does the poster show originality by the student?
o Does the poster show evidence of research?
o Does the poster show artistic merit and creativity?
o Does the poster accurately reflect the historical event?
o Is the poster neat and visually pleasing?
